Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (April 21, 2010) – Two weekends of traditional Sprint Car racing in Texas and Arkansas are just around the corner for the Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless Series.
And when wingless, 410-ci Sprint Cars hit the high-banked, ¼-mile I-30 Speedway clay oval in Little Rock, AR, on Saturday night, May 8, for the first time in over a quarter of a century, some extra dollars will be up for grabs in the form of the TNT Front Row Challenge.

COMP Cams MSRA Invades Malden & I-30 Speedway This Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (04/19/10) – The COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model Series will host the next two rounds of their 2010 campaign this weekend, April 23rd – 24th, when they travel to Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) and I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas).
The tour hosted their opening events two weeks ago, and it was the series’ defending champion, Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas, who once again established himself as the man to beat. The young driver swept both opening weekend events at Beebe Speedway and Riverside International Speedway and currently sits atop the point standings.

Craft Scores $1,000 Payday At Thunder Mountain Speedway
This is the short version of this story. I will have more later in the day when I get the official results from the track.

Really good show. I enjoyed it, and was glad I made the trip. Keith had some back luck, spitting out his drive shaft in hot laps, but he got is squared away before the heat race.
After starting third row outside in his heat, he shot to the front and took the lead on lap two and never looked back.
Lynnsee Provence Set For Modified Action At Beebe Speedway
(East End, Arkansas) East End, Arkansas young gun racer Lynnsee Provence is gearing up for Open Wheel Modified action at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas. Lynnsee was last in action in March where he brought home and 8th place finish, but experienced mechanical difficulties that sidelined him for several weeks.
“We about go the car lined back out, and will be going to Beebe on Friday night.” said Provence. “We are working on a second car as well that will be IMCA legal so we can go out to I-30 and other IMCA sanctioned tracks. Right now, we just have the car with the outlaw motor in it, so we are limited as to where we can race on Saturday nights until we get the other car going.”

Todd was last in action two weeks ago in his #99 FTS Logistics/Mastersbilt/Russell Baker Racing Engine Super Late Model as he entered his second event of the year on Saturday night, April 10th at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas in a $2,000 to win, COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model event. Hall struggled early in the evening and was forced to run a b-main, where he finished in the second spot to earn the 17th starting spot for the 40 lap feature. Todd would battle the handling on his entry throughout the course of the event before retiring to a 16th place finish.

This has been the case for Benton, Arkansas sprint car racer Tim Crawley.
Modified Racer Tyson Franks Talks About Upcoming Season
One of the top up and coming open wheel modified racers from the Natural State is Batesville native Tyson Franks. At just 20 years old, Franks has already won his first points championship, winning the championship at Batesville Motor Speedway in 2009.
According to his website, www.TysonFranksRacing.com, Tyson started racing go-karts at the age 7, winning 4 points championships, 2 Arkansas national championships, finished 7th at the Tulsa Shootout out of 225 in 2002 and 12th out of 256 in 2004. He has over 80 feature wins and undefeated on coke syrup (including heats), and 2 Enik Sanders Memorial wins.
MSRA Director of Competition Chris Ellis Talks 2010 Season
As we all prepare for the 2010 racing season here in the Natural State, some of the premier drivers and series are also preparing for the upcoming season. One of those series includes Arkansas’ premier Super Late Model series, the Mid South Racing Association (MSRA) Late Model Series.
The MSRA Series had been in existence since 2006, and has been successful each year they have been racing in the region. ArkansasDirtRacing.net was able to catch up with MSRA Director of Competition, Chris Ellis, for his thoughts on the upcoming season.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (February 12) – After completing their second successful season as a series, the M-S-R-A (Mid South Racing Association) Dirt Late Model Series is locked and loaded for the 2009 season, and it looks like things will get even better for the series. With several big races on the schedule, the racers and fans of the M-S-R-A series are without a doubt in for a treat.
“We are looking forward to big things this season.” said series director Chris Ellis “We are going to four tracks for the first time ever this season, and we are excited about that. We will have some co-sanctioned events with the MARS and SUPR Series as well, so the promoters and fans both will get a big bang for their buck on those nights.”
